About this release

Information on Blue Zangria Blue Zangria is a feminized photoperiod variety developed by Cipher Genetics in collaboration with Maine Trees and launched in 2024. Born from the cross between Rainbow Zangria and Blue Lobster, it combines the heritage of some of the most sought-after lines in today’s cannabis scene in a single genotype. Its 50/50 indica/sativa balance, candy-style aromatic profile, and accessible cultivation make it a top-tier option for both novice and experienced growers. Genetics and Parents: A Lineage of Awards and Elite Selections Rainbow Zangria provides the base of Zangria—a cross between Thin Mint Cookies and The Original Z (Zkittlez), created by Wizard Trees—combined with a selection from the RS line. Blue Lobster, meanwhile, was created by Maine Trees from the cross Apples & Bananas x Eye Candy—also known as Facade—originally developed by Compound Genetics. It won three awards at Zalympix 2023: Best Terps, Gassiest Flower, and 2nd Best Overall. This direct heritage from champion varieties gives Blue Zangria a solid and widely proven lineage. Cultivation: Fast Flowering and Visually Striking Buds Indoors, Blue Zangria surprises with unusually fast flowering for a balanced hybrid. Sources place its flowering time between 50–55 days and 8–9 weeks, a trait that distributors attribute to the marked indica influence of Rainbow Zangria. Indoor production can reach 700 g/m², with dense, solid buds displaying a striking deep purple color and generous resin coverage. Its cultivation difficulty is accessible, making it suitable for growers of all levels. Outdoors, harvest takes place in late September or early October, making it suitable for temperate climates with good sun exposure. Aromas, Flavors, and Effects Blue Zangria’s aromatic profile draws directly from the Z family, offering a complex combination of blue raspberry, grapes, banana, and fruity candies, accompanied by tropical notes and a gassy, earthy kush background.
