About this release

Rumsu Village Feral Landrace Selection (2100m) - Chanderkhani Valley September 2022 This accession was made in September 2022 by hand selecting and harvesting the fastest feral plants in poorly drained, acidic soils on the north facing apple terraces around Rumsu village at 2100m altitude in Chanderkhani Valley amongst the Western Himalayas broadleaf forest belt. Terpene profiles ranged from Mango-Garlic to Gassy-Piney with some rotten fruits coming through occasionally. Selections were made from the largest, most trichome covered plants showing the densest buds. Rumsu is the darkest, wettest place in the valley and accordingly the plants here have strong resistance to humidity and stretch really hard for the light. Chanderkhani Valley stretches East to West perpendicular to Kullu Valley with the Chanderkhani pass (3660m) at the top of the valley leading into Malana Valley on the other side. Proper christmas tree structure on beautiful tall slender plants, this is raw genetic material for your next breeding project that will confer vigour, pest and environmental resistances. These plants are rubbed on a yearly basis by local farmers to produce 'Jungli Maal' which could be translated from the local dialect of Pahari, Kullui to English as "Forest Charas".
