About this release
Type: Mostly Sativa hybrid, Sour Diesel x OG Kush (thought to be Ghost’s, not verified though) Appearance: (7.5/10) While it seemed to be an impressive-looking strain, the sample we ended up with was composed mostly of rather small “popcorn buds” that weren’t terribly impressive to look at. They had nice structure (medium density) and were very frosty, but also had a loose manicure that left some yellowed leaves on, which knocked down the bag appeal a bit. There were also some tiny seeds spotted in the calyxes after grinding… Still though, a solid specimen that had us excited to give it a try. Aroma: (9/10) This is one of those strain combos where you can distinctly smell each one in the mix. The almost gingery/7UP quality of the OG Kush combined with the almost overwhelming fuel/skunk stank of the Sour Diesel blended nicely, especially after the grind. Initially the fuel dominated for sure, but the OG crept out after the grind and took over. Nicely pungent and impressive, high marks here. Taste: (8/10) Very similar to the smell, this was a bit fresher tasting and less-pungent than we expected from this cross, with the gingery/spicy bite of the OG Kush dominating, leaving a fuel-tinged aftertaste. There were notes of soil, eucalyptus, and petrol... The smoke expanded readily and produced a thick cloud but was still fairly smooth on the throat, leaving behind a nearly perfect fluffy light gray ash. Effects: Immediately elevating the mood, this Sativa-dominant hybrid lived up to that moniker completely, sending a rush of pressure to the temples, eyes, and face along with a buzzing body energy and a slightly racing heart. Very cerebral and philosophical, it had us a bit spaced-out but craving the company of others for conversation, though if there was a task that needed completing, focus was certainly attainable. Auditory and visual enhancement completed the Sativa package - there really weren’t any Indica effects to speak of aside from a slight body relaxation during
