We’ve always had a soft spot for the incredible work done by Gage Green Group (GGG). Whether you’re a Meph Head new or old, you’ll know all about our legendary Sour Stomper—born from a killer selection of GGG’s Grape Stomper OG crossed to our own Sour Crack. It debuted as part of our first-ever Artisanal Automatics release back in 2016, quickly became a fan favourite, and has been a staple in countless limited-edition drops. To this day, it’s still on a lot of Meph Heads’ wish lists for good reason—it’s that damn good.
When the chance came to give a proper nod to both Sour Stomper and the legends at GGG, we didn’t hesitate. Our vision was clear, take an already sought-after, highly regarded elite photoperiod and push it to the next level. We first acquired our High School Sweetheart seed stock in 2018. The F0 run took place in 2019, followed by the F1 run in 2021. During each selection, we prioritised extreme frost levels, ensuring the resin production was second to none. Bud structure was another key factor, allowing us to retain the distinct growth profile of the photoperiod parent while adapting it into an auto form. We also worked to bring forward a unique and standout flavour that would make this strain instantly recognisable.
