History of the Sticky Buns Cannabis Strain Sticky Buns is a hybrid weed strain resulting from a collaboration between two of the US' most prominent cannabis brands: Cookies and Seed Junky Genetics. Cookies was founded in 2008 by rapper/entrepreneur Berner and grower/breeder Jai. Starting out humbly as The Cookies Fam from a San Francisco garage, Berner and Jai found success after creating GSC, formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies. A cross of OG Kush and Durban Poison, GSC is one of the most influential strains ever created. During the 2010s, GSC and the Cookies line it gave birth to were practically the only thing on smokers' lips, and even today Cookies strains continue to get a lot of attention. Riding the wave that came with the creation of GSC, Berner and Jai created a weed empire that now comprises over 70 stores across six countries. In 2019, Cookies merged its efforts with Seed Junky Genetics, another high-profile US genetics brand. While the brand was officially launched in 2014, Seed Junky founder JBeezy has been growing and breeding cannabis since the early 2000s. Today, he is responsible for creating countless famous strains, including The Soap, Animal Mints, Wedding Cake, Jealousy, LA Kush Cake, and many more.
