Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). This pheno of Durban Poison was crossed right here in Michigan! A fellow geneticist friend of mine adores regular seeds and purchased some Durban Poison Regular seeds. After selecting a male and a female he cross pollinated and created what we call 517 Durban Poison. I used this strain as our original Durban Poison in the making of our Poison Kush.
