Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About 8 Mile

One of our close friends known only as Skins created the original Skins Skunk and our 8 Mile using Michigan Skunk as a starting point. He used a male skunk to pollinate a female Mendo Purps that the Loud family had been using for outdoor crops. We are currently (12/2013) releasing F3 regular seeds but are working on an F5 batch that should be ready sometime in 2014. Genetics: Michigan Skunk x Purple Kush Indica: 80% / Sativa: 20% Flowering: 7-8 Weeks Yield: 400-450 g/m² CBD: 1-2% THC: 15-19%
