Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). He was making selections to create a much improved progeny that had large,dense colas, impressive trichome coverage and of course enhanced terpene profiles. Hence the name Early Fruit because it was 1. A very early finishing Sativa and 2. had an overwhelmingly delicious smell of fruit salad.
