Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Afghan Mama
Genetics: Purple Kandahar x Malana Cream Sex: Regular Type: Hybrid Flowering Time: 10-12 weeks Yield: High Area (Indoor, Outdoor, Both): Indoor, Outdoor, Greenhouse
Notes: Afghan Mama has been a cornerstone of my garden for over 13 years. From the very beginning, this line stood out—not only for its stunning, colorful flowers but also for its uniquely balanced effects: creatively stimulating and uplifting, paired perfectly with deep body relaxation that leads to restful, rejuvenating sleep.
This cultivar originated from Kandahar Afghani seed stock, collected by a close friend during his early 2000s military service in Afghanistan. From that lineage, I selected an exceptional purple mother plant, known for her meditative, dreamy, yet uplifting effects and stunning deep royal purple hues. The father was an equally impressive Malana Cream, sourced directly from the Himalayas—renowned for its powerful, soaring, joyful, and deeply spiritual effects, a favorite of mine since youth.
The aroma is a complex bouquet of floral and fruity perfumes, with a sweet, creamy hashish undertone. Both parent lines are celebrated for their high resin production and abundant yields, and Afghan Mama embod
