Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Afghani (New Mexico) / Thai F1 Hybrid
A very promising Indica Sativa Hybrid. The Afghani seeds were given to me by a kind soul in New Mexico.
The New Mexican Afghani turned out to be a very potent variety. Short, dense and a good yielder. These plants were grown in the winter month in cool conditions. Unfortunately, the females in N.M. Afghani variety fell prey to mold, which attacked the plants at the base of the stem. A common problem with Indicas. I was able to smoke the buds, but there was not one visible seed in them. That strain is lost, for the moment at least, but some very promising hybrids have been made. The only fault that I could find with the Indica was that is tasted a bit oily. Crossing it with a Sativa should correct the fault. The Thai was an outstanding Gold, with particularly dense buds
