THC-dominant

Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 100%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Afghanica

Yield: 600g/m2 • 600-700 g/plant Genetics: Origen: Afganistan. Pure Indica Flowering time: 7-9 weeks Outdoor harvest: end of septembere / begin of octobre suitable for indoors and outdoors Height: 90-110 cm • 110-130 cm THC: 25% Aromas/ flavors: floral, earthy Afghanica comes as the name suggests from Afghanistan and grows originally in a valley at about 800m altitude. Afghanistan has a continental climate with hot summers and very cold winters and accordingly this landrace is very robust and fast flowering. This strain grows relatively short with thick side branches and was traditionally cultivated to produce very potent Hashish. Afghanica: a pure Indica landrace with high yields Afghanica requires 7-9 weeks of flowering time and can be harvested outdoors in the end of September / beginning of October. A well-grown Afghanic from Anesia Seeds can yield 500 grams per square meter inside and between 600 to 700 grams outside. She has excellent vigor of growth and a good resistance to mold and diseases. Afghanica gets dark green and large leaves. The buds of this strain are very condensed and covered in a great amount of trichomes what is responsible for the high THC content. The aroma
