Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Alaskan Purple

Seedsman Alaskan Purple is a cannabis hybrid cross between Purple Alaskan x Kush x Brazilian Sativa. The result is an easy to cultivate, vigorous and highly productive variety which presents bright purple colours at the end of the growing cycle. This cannabis plant, created from 3 varieties, has a vigorous growth since its germination. Its great vigorousness makes it easy to manipulate with pruning, topping, SOG, SCROG, or tying in order to obtain an easy to control indoor cultivation or to develop outdoors plants more controllable in height. Alaska Purple flowering period is relatively short, just 9 weeks, offering and abundant yield of even more than 1700g per plant. The harvest is ready during the first fortnight of October, always provided it enjoys optimal growing conditions. Indoors, it can be expected a yield of about 550g per m2. It delivers aromas and flavours combining a sweet berries mixture with floral notes that provide an excellent bouquet. The Kush inheritance provides a high psychoactive effect, with a relaxed body but an active and psychedelic mental activity thanks to the Brazilian Sativa inheritance.
