Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Ambrosia Skunk

The Nor-Cal Pineapple Skunk we used is old-school favorite grown by the Hmong in the region for years from late 90’s. Rancid pineapple gas, superior mold resistance and fantastic yields are the norm. Nothing modern about these genetics, but we still worked it for two years before settling on the stud we loved for this cross. Such a fun plant! The Maryville, CA Berry White clone used in this section has been grown at the end of the northern ridge for years, It is a VERY early finisher and brings home the mega blackberry terps. There is a good reason Berry White is such a crowd pleaser. Jammmmmmmy and dense, with a heck of a sappy, slappy high! The results of this marriage were pretty much as we expected: A wonderful cash cropper that brings it home early, that is near bulletproof with large, dense buds of forever tropical-berry fruit and GAS! This one is a good time smoke to boot! Expect some pheno variations (as with all F2’s) and a lot of vigor! Outdoor cultivation is recommended for this line, as it will get big. Ambrosia Skunk is very heat resistant and will grow well in arid-hot environments or a greenhouse. The head buds and side shoots can grow to extraordinary proportions an
