Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Apollo Blues

The chunkiest, most cheesy pineapple smelling Apolllo XX female was selected to be hit with a very stout, strong branched Delta Blues male. The male used had a resinous coating to him with a deep musky stink. Apollo Blues was created to try and add the day wrecking potency and super strong branching to the Apollo XX plant, which is known to be a bit spindly in the branching. The results were a great success of medium height plants with tight node structure and great wide fan leaves. The resulting flowers have a delicious scent of electricity and toasted orange zest, not sweet and bright but more warm and spicy, almost like an orange potpourri. Potency shined through as well, with a deep and bright stone that is fantastic for relaxing in the evening. This was primarily created to use as chucking stock for future projects
