Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

In terms of Azure Haze's characteristics, growers will be pleased to hear that it's an incredibly easy to plant to manage. Blessed with genetics of ganja gods Azure Haze is very much the new bud on the block. A silver Haze mother crossed with 'stretch Indica' Blueberry male to create the same cross as the Blue Dream. That being said, Azure Haze is in fact one generation closer to the P1 landrace ancestry. Blue Dream cross involved an F5 Blueberry male while Azure's F4. In terms of Azure Haze's characteristics, growers will be pleased to hear that it's an incredibly easy to plant to manage - irrespective of its tall stature. The hybrid make light work for both novice and expert growers. Beautiful in appearance, Azure Haze sports elongated, spear-shaped flowers which are densely packed with small (but hefty) buds. Its somewhat sluggish flowering time of up to 10 weeks (70 days) is only a minor inconvenience considering all the bud you get for your buck. Its high yielding qualities a
