Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Bess

Unknown - Black Cherry Sour Diesel x East Coast Sour Diesel mother crossed to Sin City Seeds - Sin Mint Cookies pollen provided in collaboration with @diabeetusdoobies on IG. Original F1 cross made Spring of 2018. Mom was cherry, gassy, greasy and sour a gem of a plant. Worked to F2 using three mothers Spring/Summer 2019. Phenotype #1 went up for sale, #2 is still available and #3 went to the birdfeeder to spread joy in my neighborhood. Terpenes range from Blackberry, burnt rubber, skunk and cookies. Hybrid smoke nice smooth ride. Best ran multi topped with minimal LST or HST, so run stacks like cookie strains
