Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

Notes: Bhangawa takes its name from a traditional cannabis edible preparation in Afghanistan, known for its powerful and spiritual effects. This strain is built from a mother line of giant Afghani hashplant from Kandahar, famous for its intense aroma — think rotten meat, garlic, earthy, woody, fruity, floral, spicy, with a sharp astringency. This is a highly productive plant with gigantic yields, delivering a potent, sleepy, narcotic effect.
The father line is my highly coveted Ethiopian, bursting with heavy floral notes of jasmine, nectar, and a sharp woodiness. Its effects are deeply centering, uplifting, and bring a sense of contentment, gratitude, and joy.
Bhangawa blends these qualities seamlessly, producing large, vigorous, and extremely hardy plants with long, thick colas coated in creamy resin. The dense structure of the Kandahar combined with the foxtailed floral clusters of the Ethiopian creates something truly spectacular — each plant looks like a living work of art. Some expressions produce long, Ethiopian sati
