Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Big Blue

Another British Columbia Seed Company original. Since they introduced this strain to growers back in 1997, they have gotten nothing but rave reviews. Big Blue is a cross between Northern Lights #5 and Blueberry. The result is an almost pure Indica with amazing hybrid vigour. Huge buds on short stocky plants make this strain an excellent choice for small spaces. Smokes soft and smooth with a very nice buzz and a beautiful dried grape aroma. Flowering Time: 45 - 50 days Approx Yield: Up to 150 grams Height: 2 - 3 feet
