Chemotype
Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Blue Brilliant
Blue Brilliant: The delightful mix of Super Silver Haze and Blueberry. Growers and smokers who like to visit the coffee shops of the Netherlands have most likely already experienced the potency and quality of one of the best performing strains, Super Silver Haze. The light green colour of the buds, the aromatic but smooth taste, and the cerebral effects are not a big secret. Zambeza Seeds decided to create a strain that preserves the main characteristics of SSH, by at the same time enriching the genetic pool with the most successful strains of the Blue family, the notorious and world famous Blueberry. When looking at the magnificent buds of Blue Brilliant, which can sometimes develop blue hues in late flowering, one really gets the impression of looking at a beautifully polished blue brilliant. This sativa-dominant strain needs a flowering time of approximately 65 days. This is a remarkable improvement when thinking about the 11 weeks of flowering time, strains like Super Silver Haze normally need. Manageable heights of 80-110cm make this hybrid more applicable to be grown indoors. Indoor growers can expect high yields of up to 550-650g/m², whereas outdoor gardeners can harvest abo
