Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Blue Mountain Durban
We have taken Durban Poison one of South Africa’s best strains and crossed it with Lavender and then the super special Afghani ’76 and the result is a Sativa dominant plant that produces very large buds and leaves take on a blue/purple color towards the end of the flowering cycle. The plants calyx to leaf ratio makes it an easy plant to trim. This strain produces a strong citrus aroma that leaves your mouth watering.
