Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Blueberry Durban

We wanted to create a strain nearly identical to the beloved Durban Poison but had to bring in a male to do so. We selected our Sublime Lime stud as it offered similar terpene profiles and high. We the back crossed that back to the the original Durban Poison mother and repeated that until all offspring offered similar traits to the famous Durban Poison. We then crossed that with a very old cut of Blueberry from Eugene, Oregon
