Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). OG Kush, so many cuts it makes your goddamned head spin, right? In our very tight cannaluminati circle we have collectively run most of the earliest OG Kush cuts out there and have all smoked each others stash. We aren’t experts but I would say it’s at least an educated stance when picking out of my large OG Kush clone library. It was important to me to be selective which OG cuts I wanted to marry with the Blue Bonnet. Out of the Triangle, SFV, 92 OG, The Kush, Louie XIII, Loompas Headband, TCPK, 56 Day Headband, Irene S1… this is the single line I cherry picked thinking it would be the best. It did not disappoint. The Soul Assassin #1 is at best guess a hybrid with some purple hues, but stays in line with the Irene/Pure Kush terps – yet it needs zero staking! An OG with structure?! Even more insane resin production?! Count me in! Now cover that bitch in blueberry sauce. As with all of the Blue Bonnet stuff, the amount of keeper females is insane, but even more important for seed makers – the males in all of the bonnet hybrids thus far have been stellar.
