Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Candy Girl CBD

While industrial hemp seeds mostly have a relatively low THC content, they often lack aroma / terpenes and the CBD content is often only in the average range. With "Candy Girl CBD" (feminized) we have now succeeded in meeting these demands. Up to 14 % total CBD and an very interesting terpene profile, which was decisive for the naming, make this variety to our current top variety. The high proportion of lime stands out, which is responsible for the citrus / orange aroma. The total THC content (THC + THCa) is on average between 0.2 - 0.4%, depending on the time of harvest and growing conditions. The CBD to THC ratio is an excellent 38:1 This hybrid variety is suitable for indoor and outdoor cultivation. Their growth behavior is strongly indica-dominant, which means that they can also be easily grown in lower rooms. Outdoors, the plants can be harvested relatively early - as early as the end of September; indoors, the flowering time is about 8 weeks. For the lowest possible THC values, the variety should be harvested a little earlier and UV-poor lamps should be used. Yields of up to 500 grams per m² can be achieved indoors, up to 500 grams per plant outdoors, depending on the size of
