Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Cerasus #41

A pheno hunt on the Cerasus#41 is an invitation to travel. Choosing between all these shades of color and fragrance is a real dilemma. The plants are stable in terms of structure and flower development and their flowering period is very short, between 44 and 50 days. 80% of the phenotypes see their flowers express sublime colors, each offering a magnificent patchwork of colorful shades ranging from dark purple to pink, fuschia, lilac, purple all the way to the heart of the bud. We noticed during the Invidia project that our male tended to refine the scents of the mother used in each cross, the offspring being a sort of confectionery version of the parent plant with a blend of sweeter aromas. Cerasus#41 gives off scents of cherry candy with nuances of lavender and blueberry on a gassy Gelato#41 background, with a slight hint of pine. The effect is hybrid, very specific to Gelato genetics. Its high production and the quality of its resin make Cerasus#41
