Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Chemhawg Kush
Chemhawg Kush was an earlier creation from Riot Seeds and was an attempt to bring up the power in the then existing Super Hog, which was already pretty potent. What resulted was a plant that produced lots of little popcorn buds... but really powerful popcorn buds. Riot Seeds attempted one revival of it with the last of the seeds that were in the stash, however there wasn't much interest so it died away. It is now available as a clone only cut, the cut being the best representaion of the strain. Only a few people have it so it might just drop intot he annals of history.
