Chemotype
Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Chocobang
Chocobang from the seed bank Delicious Seeds is a feminised cannabis hybrid created by crossing two superb genetics from the USA, Appalachian Kush and an elite clone of Chocolope, and is one of the most eagerly awaited strains of fans of this seed bank. It's parental plants combine to create a potent blend at the genetic level, with Appalachian Kush being a cross between the powerful Green Crack and the devastating Tres Dawg, meaning that resin and potency are brought to the forefront in this strain. On the part of Chocolope, we find Cannalope Haze and Chocolate Thai OG, a powerful and flavourful Indica/Sativa hybrid. The cross was originally made 4 years ago, and since then this sativa-dominant plant has been in great demand by the growers who were able enjoy it the first time round, and have demanded it's incorporation into the bank's catalogue for 2020. Chocobang, productive and tasty genetics
Chocobang has become one of the jewels in the crown of Delicious Seeds. Its breeders point out its powerful and unique terpene profile that makes everyone fall in love with it, such a different flavour than the OG Kush terpene profiles that are taking over the international cannabis market
