Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Congo Crush

Congo Crush is an effort to bring a more unique genome and wider range of effects to the everyday smoker. The distinct, pungent musky pine, racy effects, low yield, and long flower cycle of the Black Congolese are balanced by the nth generation polyhybrid genetics introduced by the Sour Tangie. The results provides a still unique, but much more approachable high, improved flower/resin structure, yield, flower time, and delivers a familiar citrus base line to the terpene/aromatic profile. Guaranteed to get even the pickiest of custies on board with genuine heirloom flavors and effects. While greatly improved from the raw Black Congolese, some F1 genotypes present a rather stretchy phenotype in the right/wrong environment. During and following the transition into flowering, be sure to provide the plants with ample light as reasonably close as possible, and begin feeding potassium long before the plant finishes the stretch, as soon as bud sites begin to form. The F1 resin structure varies from the lanky stalks with light grease from the Black Congolese mother to the short, weak-necked sandy/tacky resin heads on the Sour Tangie male. For serious terp chasers, it still yields reasonably
