Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The vegetative stages goes on for a minimum of 14 weeks up to 18 weeks, during this time the plants form a beautiful and abundant intense olive green foliage composed of 3, 5 and 9 thin serrated leaflets with medium-sized leaves, internodal spaces of 5 to 15 cm and strong strong vigorous stems that vary in colour.
