Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Dale Burnhardt
Dale Burnhardt from Red Scare Seed Co. (RSSC) is a relatively obscure but intriguing cannabis variety with limited publicly documented pedigree information. The strain is known to have been worked to at least the F2 generation, with growers documenting Dale Burnhardt F2 from RSSC.
The lack of a published parental lineage adds an element of mystery to the variety, but its presence as an F2 indicates that the genetics were deliberately selected and further worked through successive generations rather than being a one-off hybrid. As with many smaller-breeder releases, detailed information about the original parents and selection process appears to have remained largely within the breeder and grower community.
Dale Burnhardt is therefore best regarded as an RSSC-developed, F2-generation cultivar with an undisclosed pedigree, appealing particularly to collectors and growers interested in lesser-known genetics and boutique breeding projects.
