Terpene profile most dominant first
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Dark Rainbow
This one was specifically bred for the water hash engineers out there. Foul mouth GMO terps collide with the interstellar moonbow lemon-lime sweet Z terps. Phenotypes range everywhere in between the two parents. But the best washers will have the GMO bud and plant structure but with a unique Moonbow twist to the terpene profile. There are even rare, heavy-yielding flower and water hash Z dominant terpene profiles on GMO statured plants, that actually weigh and wash. If you love the rank stank bum breath GMO and moonbow Z funk terps, you’re going to fall in love with this one. Especially if you spend a lot of time in the cold room with a set of water hash bags. In my opinion, the perfect mix of moonbow fruit funk and pure chem skunky-ness. Consistent in results, both as flower and for hash. A heavy producer of delightfully skunky herb and on a very manageable plant profile. Very heavy resin production as well. Many testing over 30% in flower and producing +5% hash returns, from a plant capable of producing over 75g/sq ft of dry flower, or 350g/sq ft fresh frozen
