Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). Do-Si-Dos was a fun plant to grow and smoke. My goal in this cross was to improve the slightly lanky structure of the Do-Si-Dos and increase the bud size, harvest weight and overall vigor while hoping for increased potency in the progeny. The results were impressive plants with dark purple and black leaves, a stout Christmas tree shape, funky aromas and amazing potency. Double Dose will grow tall and fill in with chunky, frosty buds. Be prepared to add supports. She likes low pH and takes heavy feedings. She may need extra Cal/Mag. Kelp products enhance the funky aromas and flavors.
