About this release
Durban Z is the new feminized Precision F1 Hybrid developed by Barney's Farm. A photoperiod, sativa-dominant variety, it combines the uniform vigor typical of first-generation F1 hybrids with a high-impact citrus-forward aromatic profile and THC levels that can reach up to 27%. Genetics and origin of the crossDurban Z comes from crossing Durban Poison and Original Z, two well-established genetics with complementary traits. Durban Poison contributes its classic elongated sativa structure and clear, cerebral African heritage effects, while Original Z enhances resin production, potency, and adds its signature visual appeal, including purple hues that emerge during the final flowering stage.
As an F1 hybrid, Durban Z delivers strong consistency across plants, with uniform growth patterns and highly predictable flowering behavior. This reduces variability and ensures reliable results compared to non-stabilized genetics. The final ratio is approximately 70% sativa / 30% indica. Growing behaviorIndoors, Durban Z finishes flowering in 56–65 days and typically reaches 110–150 cm in height. Its semi-open structure promotes good airflow through the canopy and responds well to training methods such as topping, FIM, and LST.
The buds are long and foxtail-structured, with lime-green tones and purple streaks inherited from Original Z, all covered in a dense layer of sparkling trichomes. Yields are around 550 g/m² under optimal conditions, with stable nutrient uptake and good tolerance to common cultivation stress.
Outdoors, Durban Z can produce up to 750 g per plant, with harvest expected between the first and second week of October. Its cultivation difficulty is medium, making it suitable for growers with some experience who want strong performance in a stable F1 format. Aromas, flavors, and effectsThe aroma profile of Durban Z is dominated by sweet lemon and bright citrus notes, layered with tropical candy-like fruit, herbal undertones, mild spice, and a subtle floral background
