Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Dutch Dessert

For this project, Dungeons Vault Genetics decided to use a cannabis classic as a mother, choosing a clone of Dutch Treat found in the Pacific North West of the USA, a Haze x Northern Lights hybrid with a short, stocky structure, high yields and a sweet, fruity flavour with touches of pine and eucalyptus. The high is euphoric and uplifting, with a stress-relieving effect that soothes anxiety and relaxes the mind. To this female plant, DVG have applied pollen from one of their top male plants: Purple Jellato (Gelato #33 x Purple Vapor). This variety is a firm favourite among growers and smokers alike, due to its exotic, sweet and fruity flavours as well as the beautiful display of colour shown by the plants and the finished flowers. The complete resin coverage contrasting with dark colours of the dense buds mean that Purple Jellato not only has huge bag appeal but a potent high too. The results of this genetic combination are vigorous plants with a well-balanced effect and great flavours. Dutch Dessert can be grown indoors, outdoors and in greenhouses. The flowers will be ready for harvest after 8-9 weeks of flowering. Dutch Dessert by Dungeons Vault Genetics info: Type: Regular seed
