Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Expert Haze
Expert Haze is a cross between our best Haze with Laotian genetics to create a proper Sativa but with a relatively short flowering cycle, making it ideal for indoors or outdoors, even in northern European climes. A medium-sized, well-branched plant that is very flexible, making it ideal for SOG or SCROG systems. Produces a large central bud surrounded by smaller satellite buds in long Sativa tails that are hard, compact and full of resin glands. We would recommend staking or tutoring as the weight of the buds may break the branches. An incense and fine hardwood taste with fruity notes. A euphoric and very psychoactive effect.
