Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Franklinz

Azulcar #22 is our keeper pheno of (Blue Sherb x Runtz). We’ve had her in rotation for a while now and have used her in several pollinations. Franklinz is among our first releases using Azulcar #22 as a pollen donor, this time paired with Caliqueso. Caliqueso has been making its rounds around Europe, bringing an updated “Cali dank” to the beloved Cheese. It is the heaviest-yielding plant we have encountered to date. We’ve found that crossing a (Cheese Hybrid) with another new school strain has been able to water down the cheese dominance, bringing more subtle cheese expressions within its progeny. Caliqueso x Azulcar is one of the most well-balanced cheese hybrids we currently work with
