Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Freedom Express
Mom was an exceptional phenotype of Pineapple Express that we started from seed. By mid-flower the trichomes have reached the tips of the trim leaves and continue to grow thicker and taller, turning cloudy during the 7th week. There is more side-branching from the main colas than is ideal for growing indoors, but this is easily remedied by training early for canopy and using a net, or staking inside of a cage. The genetics from the male have actually worked well to balance this out in most phenotypes as well as shorten the distance between bud sites for heavier colas. Flowers from Freedom Express still retain a lot of the taste from mom, but are saturated with the grape flavor and smell from the male she was crossed with
