Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About GoDISS

Parents of this strain: God Bud (legendary indica-dominant hybrid from Vancouver Island) - this being the original, old school God Bud; slow in veg, hard to clone, picky little lady from Vancouver Island (early 90's); before JOTI got busted and lost the genetics (his new 'BC' God Bud has random stuff thrown in - so, no longer pure). Enter, this new balanced-hybrid, with the PURE God Bud as its parent, the one, the only, that created the legend! So, the story goes, the breeder of this new GodISS cross managed to keep the original God Bud cut cloning for decades, until finally deciding to cross with another legendary Vancouver Island sativa-dominant strain, Island Sweet Skunk (ISS); crossing in order to improve the original God Bud genetics' overall vigour, increase it's capacity for vegetative growth, and therefore, yield, and clone-ability while, at the same time, reinforcing the sativa part of the original GodBud's lineage to restore more sativa balance in the effects; thus, creating this new strain, based solidly on not one but two legendary BC strains, God Bud x Island Sweet Skunk - hitherto to be known, and loved, as.. the "GodISS"
