Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). A heavy indica dominant strain created through crossing the classic Big Bud X Purple Urkle strains. Perfect for nighttime use, Grand Daddy Purple hits both the body and mind initially but quickly fades into a smooth body buzz like most heavy indicas do. It brings on the classic indica couch-lock feeling and can even promote feelings of numbness in the body. It's immensely relaxing and perfect for ending the day.
