Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Hawkeye

Our Hawkeye regularly tests out in the 2:1 CBD:THC averaging 10% CBD: 5-6% THC. Each Hawkeye phenotype will contain the CBD genes from the Cannatonic but not all Hawkeye phenotypes will express this high CBD trait. Our goal with Hawkeye is to bring CBD genetics to the masses while bringing closer internodes and more structure from Mt. Rainier to the Cannatonic. Genetics: Cannatonic x Mt. Rainier Indica/Sativa Hybrid Average Flower time: 8-10 weeks Average Yield:Medium, Medium-Heavy
