Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Hay-Z

Ministry of Cannabis set a goal with this one: They wanted to create a super sativa. They accomplished everything they had hoped for, to say the least. To reach such a super strain, they crossed two famous specimens - Super Silver Haze and Neville's Haze. This resulted in a mix of genetics, comprised of 85% sativa and 15% indica heritage. Like a true sativa, this plant needs its space because it will grow immensely, especially outdoors. But even in an indoor environment you can tame the growth by giving her only the minimum of vegetative time. After 9-10 weeks you will be rewarded with a yield of 550-650 g/m² indoors, although the harvest can reach 800 g/plant under the sun. The smell has spicy and fresh floral undertones while still being a fruity haze. Furthermore, Hay-Z delivers an enormous punch with its 23% THC content, which can be a bit over the top for inexperienced smokers, so be careful when you try it. She is extremely potent - you will feel the long-lasting cerebral high for hours. As a true sativa, Hay-Z will keep you motivated and positive for all kinds of activities. The high is also very psychedelic, twisting your perception and senses. Any real sativa fan will fall
