Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Sativa 100%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Hindu Laos

For the sativa curious, Hindu Laos is an amazing expression of a truly unique and beautiful sativa dominant landrace hybrid. The pure Laos brings thick and natural genetic foxtail bud structure, while the Hindu Afghani adds a lot of density and terpene intensity. Both parents have trippy effects in different ways, the Laos being more gentle, focused and anti-anxiety, and the Hindu being very powerful, euphoric, and even able to induce closed eye visuals for many. These come together beautifully to give you a long lasting floaty sativa headspace that you won’t find in the majority of modern cannabis. These plants have potential for THCV and various other cannabinoids. Flavors are similar to our Hindu Watermelon, with strong putrid orange mixed with dead skunk, burnt rubber, and sweet corn and gas behind it. These terps are extremely loud, thanks to our super intense Hindu Afghani mom. Plants have a very vigorous stretch, so I recommend vegging it just a few inches tall, topping once or twice, and then flipping straight to flower where she will stretch around 5x her height and come into a full size branchy plant with solid yields! 10-12 week flower time, and well worth the wait.
