Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Honeydew

Three years and over twenty Mazar hybrids later, we bring you Honeydew - the F1 cross with Cinderella 99. While many of the Mazar hybrids produced desirable growth characteristics, nothing could compare in smell and taste. With fragrances ranging from citrus, to mangos and melons, it's a real joy to consume. Its ease of growth and bountiful yields make it a favorite for growers as well. Expect a uniform crop with indica-dominant plants ranging from 3ft to 5ft in height, with many short, densely packed side branches. The high leaf to calyx ratio passed on from the Mazar-I-Sharif father makes it somewhat time consuming to trim, but also an excellent candidate for hash production. Indoors, plants can be harvested after 8 weeks but benefit from being left as long as 10. While Honeydew is able to tolerate both warm and cool climates, it requires until the end of October or early November to finish outdoors and is not recommended for growers in the North. Genetics: Mazar-I-Sharif X Cinderella 99 Indica / Sativa: 50 / 50 Grow Location: Indoor / Outdoor Flowering: 8 - 10 Weeks Yield: High
