Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Huckleberry Diesel

A cross of an Oregon Huckleberry 2014 IBL male and a Sour Diesel clone. Huckleberry Diesel exhibits four distinct phenotypes, all with tremendous resin production and bountiful yields. Expect rapid growth and early trichome production when bloom begins, with pungent, fuel-like aromas becoming more pronounced during the middle to end of the flowering period. Berry and diesel scents will fill the grow room as the plants ripen. Extra carbon filters are recommended if odor control is a concern. Expect purple and white, gem-dusted flowers.
