Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Hungry Horse
These seeds are large and plants will grow big fast, packing the colas with thick dense flowers. The Dark Horse mom and the Freedom Express father have produced some heavy little beans and while the Freedom Express does typically have more lateral branching than the Dark Horse, we used a male that was chosen in part because of it’s more vertical type of branching so that this strain will still be easy to grow in any high yield situation. We used the green Dark Horse phenotype for this cross, but both parents express purple phenotypes, so this strain will be attractive in addition to being hungry! 17% THC – 1.4% CBD (early cut)
