Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

Not very strong in terms of frost or terpenes, but has a pleasant and smooth flavour and aroma. Reminiscent of pure Kandahar (Afghanistan) from the old days (1970’s). The flavour is slightly sweet, herbal, distinctive. The range one detects is earthy and smooth. Not harsh on the inhale or exhale.
