Terpene profile most dominant first
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Jamaican Pearl
A real innovation in cannabis breeding – Caribbean ganja adapted for the European climate! Jamaican Pearl is a sweetly potent outdoor Sativa whose presence will bring a taste of the South Seas to any garden and can even make the northern latitudes seem a touch more tropical. Jamaica is home to Sativas of astounding quality and potency, selectively bred for countless generations, so it seems strange that Caribbean genotypes are relatively rare in modern breeding. The enthusiasm which greeted Marley's Collie showed Sensi Seeds that growers everywhere are keen to sample the delights of genuine sinse. The years of breeding work behind our Collie strain had produced some very interesting possibilities involving Jamaican gene-stock, the most promising of which was the project to develop a hybrid with dominant Jamaican qualities that could succeed in the northern summer, Starting with the exquisite female parent of Marley’s Collie, the perfect pollen donor was found in our favourite Early Pearl male. Known for producing tough, fast-flowering offspring, this sweet Sativa was also less likely to dilute the Jamaican’s breezy cerebral high or interfere with her tropical flavours. As with Marl
