Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Jamaican Sunset F2
This line is a bit of an anomaly for us, using a ridiculously pungent, Nor-Cal cut of Afghani #1 which can run a little longer than we prefer (9-10 weeks). But it was SO different in all ways that we just HAD to use it to create something unique!
We have been working refining Dying Breeds under-appreciated “Sour Jamaican Lime” for at least four years. Battle proven for producing quality flowers with some amazing lime terp profiles that wanders to hints of green curry with just ridiculous resin production. It was an easy decision to make this pairing with the Afghani. The results were as expected…on point and totally superior!
We wanted to bring that broader terp palette to the “desert flowers” table, so we went back to two outstanding males we found from the original Seed Junky Sunset Sherbet BX1 drop. This pairing was awesome in its own right, matching it with an Afghani/SJL male that was properly stout and pungent as they come. The results were unexpectedly good!
