Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Kalyana

This is an old indica / sativa hybrid. There are about 70% sativa in it, but it is still a very compact plant you can get out of it. The variety is good against pain and insomnia and is very potent. The smoke is fruity with a hint of pineapple. Flowering time is 8-9 weeks and can give a yield of 450-500 g/m2 in a SOG setup. Expect also a lot of crystals in the very last weeks of flowering.
