Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Malana x Panama Red
Although she has yet to be properly named, she has already earned a permanent place in our gardens. She is a 100% pure sativa, acclimated to the wet autumn weather of NW Oregon, and finishing by the end of October at 45 north. Very complex terpene profiles, with an equally unique smoking experience to back them up. A fantastic cultivar, and an excellent choice for outdoor growers with a love for sativas.
