Chemotype genetics-true
Chemotype
Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Maui True Blood
Sativa Dominant
9 weeks
THC: 22% (indoor)
Difficulty: easy
Yield: heavy Grow type: indoor, light dep, outdoor Maui True Blood is a sativa-dominant strain that smells like Smarties candy, cherries, and grapes. This strain will form a 4-6 nodal top cola with a tightly disconnected cola structure beneath giving it the appearance of braiding. The buds are dense but have a high leaf-to-calyx ratio with moderately sized restacked calyxes throughout. The buds are golf ball-sized with light purple hues throughout and completely encased in trichomes forming the “trichome taco” on her sugar leaves. This is a very wide squatty vegetative plant that will triple in size in flower however it still won't be a very tall plant due to her squatty nature. This strain likes to grow lots of downward/awkward-growing branches, so we bottom this plant up a little higher up than others. It has a low-density canopy that is easily pruned and defoliated. It is a very sturdy plant that won't require much extra support. Overall, this is an easy strain to grow that will do well in any style of grow
